Re-flashing the DL1/DL2/AX22
Please note that it is not routinely necessary to re-flash products from Race Technology, it should only be carried out for one of the following reasons:
- There is a problem with the data logger and after contacting the factory, you've been asked to reflash the logger.
- There has been a new release of the firmware containing new features you wish to make use of.
- When you try to connect the data logger to the software you get a message saying that your firmware is out of date.
Re-flash procedure:
Start the relevant re-flash programme from the Windows Start menu. The software will bring up the following warning message:
If you are sure you need to re-flash the data logger, click on Yes.
The following dialogue box will appear:
Select which serial port the data logger is connected to, then click on Start.
After a short delay you will be asked to select the firmware file that should be used to re-flash the meter:
Select the file you wish to use. It is essential that you select the correct firmware file, if you do not, then the results will be unpredictable.
For DL1, DL2, or AX22, make sure the unit is disconnected from the power. Once you click the open button, the program will prompt you to turn the unit on. Apply power to the unit and the reflash process will start. The procedure may take a couple of minutes, the progress of the programming will be shown in the dialogue box:
DL1, DL2, AX22. If the re-flashing is successful, wait ten seconds, then remove power from the logger and re apply power.
If for any reason an error occurs during re-flashing, remove the power to the data logger (temporarily removing the batteries if required), turn the data logger on again, and restart the programming procedure.
WARNING
Under no circumstances should the software be modified. All Race Technology products contain checking routines to ensure the software is correct. If the software is found to be incorrect, the data logger will no longer function. You will not be able to reprogram the data logger and it will have to be returned to Race Technology to be fixed at your cost.
