Compatible recording modes
GoPro cameras save two files to the microSD card per video chapter: an LRV and an MP4 file. Both contain the same duration, start time and end time of video, but serve different purposes.
MP4s are the full-resolution videos, great for presentations, archival or sharing online. However, due to their size and resolution, they require more capable processing resources for smooth playback and rendering.
LRVs store a lower-resolution version of the same video, but keep the GPS data recorded fully intact, making them particularly useful for applications requiring quick analysis and responsive data handling.
The Race Technology GoPro software supports both LRV and MP4 video files. All resolutions and frame rates are supported, with the exception of 360-degree videos – videos must be of standard rectangular profile.

Storing LRV files on a cloud service such as OneDrive will allow for “access-anywhere” storage of hundreds of hours of video.
