The following buttons on the toolbar are shortcuts to tasks within the menus.
This allows you to load between one and ten .RUN files. This is the same function as if you go to > File > Load Logged Data.
Load a file from Run Database
This allows you to load data from the Run database
This button prints the currently selected window within the program. If you wish to print all windows, go to > File > Print All... Please make sure that you have set up your printer options in the Print Setup
The run manager allows you to manipulate the loaded .RUN files. Within the manager you can alter settings specific to the car, what the atmosphere was like on the day and manipulate the .RUN file. You can also set up the video camera preferences and synchronise the video playback with the logged .RUN data.
Within the Variable manager you can edit hundreds of different settings to personalise the program. You can also set up User Defined Variables, which can be used to calculate values off the current variables.
Each click of the following toolbar buttons will open a new instance of the associated window in the current layer.
The track map window is a very versatile function, when used interactively with the graphs and summary windows, they are a very powerful analysis tool. The window allows you to view the course layout that the data has been run on. Once the layout has been generated, you can add and edit track markers to break the track up into sectors for separate analysis. Once the track markers are in place, the options allow you to display single sectors, laps, or the whole run, choosing up to 5 separate parts at any one time.
The XY graph can be used to display any set of data against any other set of data in several highly flexible methods. Under the Data Options, it allows you to choose which data you sets of data you wish to display, while under the View Options you can choose how this data is displayed, you can also label the axes to your preference for presentation and analysis purposes.
Histograms can allow another form of analysis of the data. It is sometimes more useful to represent the data in a frequency format.
This window allows you to tabulate performance metrics, you can use this to display, for example, things like the time to accelerate from 0-60mph and the time to brake from 50-10mph. All the performance tables are calculated from the last set of data you highlighted, i.e. the selection in black. You can highlight data from the track map, the XY graphs and the track and sector times table.
Once the map has been broken up into sectors, the software automatically calculates the times for each lap, sector and also the time slip against the best of the available times. When the full laps are compared for time slip, they are compared against the "Theoretical Best Lap", which takes the best sector times and calculates what the lap would be if these were done back to back. The fastest times for the laps and sectors are marked with a small chequered flag and are highlighted in bold. All times are displayed in the minutes:seconds.hundredths of a second, where minutes are only shown if the time is over 60 seconds. Data can be highlighted in this window by left clicking on a cell in the table, this can allow analysis and comparison via the other functions. Bear in mind that you cannot compare, for example, sector 3 against sector 4, as it would not make sense.
The summary statistics allows you to view a set of user defined statistics about the data ranges currently selected, the laps or a particular sector. Once you've added your own statistics, you can change which data is looked at via the drop down menu in the top left of the window. When using the 'Display for selected areas' option, no statistics will appear until you have either highlighted something on the track menu or the XY graphs (hold shift and drag along the graphic) or on the lap and sector times table (click on a cell on the table). Any user defined statistics will be lost when the window is closed, unless you save the custom window.
The values table shows a set output of data associated with the range or point selected. The options only apply when a range is selected, the options are whether to display the first and last values in the range, the range value (last value minus first value in the range) and the maximum and minimum values in the range. For the ranged data, the first and last values are displayed as "###.## to ###.##", the range is displayed as "Δ###", and the maximum and minimum values are signified by an up and down limit arrow respectively.
Quick XY graph offers similar functionality to the full ”XY graph” window, but can only be used to display data interactively, that is based on the currently highlighted data. It can be used to display up to 5 different variables against time or distance.
The Video window allows you to look at the playback of video footage once you have imported the video that goes with your data.
This simply displays a graphical view of any of the data you wish to view. The Virtual Dashboard is interactive, and when only a singular point is selected, or when you're playing back the run, the current statistics for the point the marker is at through the run will be displayed. If you have several markers selected in the play back window, then one set of dash boards will be displayed for each marker, colour co-ordinated with the colour of the marker. If you select a sector in the lap and sector times table or highlight a section (hold shift and drag with the mouse) on the track map or XY graphs, you can view the range by the two needles that appear on the dial, with an arrow pointing from the first value to the last value for the sector. You can view the range by the shaded sector with the maximum value within the range being the furthest point clockwise, and the minimum being the furthest point counter-clockwise.
The real-time playback controls allow you control up to 5 position markers on the map at any given point during the run. You can control them individually or as a collective. You can jump from one track marker to the next, for faster selection to where you want the position marker to be. You can also jump to a specific time in the run.
