Shortening GPS antenna wire

Any specific precautions I need to take when cutting and resoldering the antenna wire?

Any ill effects of doing this?

We recommend you do not shorten the cable. Even when using the correct tools it is difficult to get the correct connection.

Cutting and soldering the wires will reduce performance.
