Brake flag

Postby Oconnorracing » Tue Dec 08, 2020 10:43 pm

Hi all,

I have a dl1 club with an ecu link to my emerald k6 ecu. I am trying to get my data logger to recognise when I am braking mainly so I can use it to compare my runs on sprints and hill climbs

Would I need to add in a separate sensor or would the data logger pic that up direct from the ecu?

Thanks

Pete

How does your ECU know when you are braking?

Take a feed from your brake light switch and feed it is as high/low input into your DL1.

Ok to be honest I don’t know if the ecu can or can’t track braking.

So sounds like easiest thing to do is take a lead from the brake switch and run it into the data logger? Thanks pete

That's certainly what I do on my race car. You could also fit a couple of brake line pressure sensors so that you'd know how hard you were pressing the pedal. I haven't do so because I'm too stingy!
