Serial data to DL1 - where does the data go?

Postby mebilloz » Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:21 am

Hi All

This will probably be a 'nubie' question (which I am). I have just installed a DL1, DASH2, Serial interface package and am trying to get something to work. I have disabled all direct inputs to the DL1 (as they are not connected). I have enabled GPS + accelerometers + serial feed. If I press the log button it creates a file etc. When I go into the Analysis software I do not 'see' any data from the ECU (or Dash?). I am unsure if the ECU connector is working or I am just looking in the wrong spot?
Is there a trick to accessing the serial data? I tried the 'run to txt' application but the excel file does not contain any of the ECU data. If I tick the 'serial data' box the applet wants to create a BIN file which I am unsure what to do with (or if it will contain any anything).

All pointers welcome, sorry if these are V.Simple questions.

Thanks

Bill

Open the variable manager in Analysis and active (check box) the serial variables you are sending from the ECU, be sure to hit apply in the bottom right corner of the variable manager before you close the window.

Hi Osborni

The decode box is ticked. Just had a look with the monitor tool and all channels from the ECU are static. I either have an ECU issue or an ECU adaptor issue.
Starting to look into these now.

Found a plug issue which I have replaced and I think resolved the issue.

Cheers
