Problem with wheel speed calibration, 2000pulses/mile is n..

Postby mikemotors » Sun Jun 24, 2007 6:01 pm

We have a problem with wheel speed calibration. 2000pulses/mile is not enough for Audi 5/6speed quattro's original sensor. I remembered that someone arqued about this issue earlier, but i didn't found the topic anymore..
If the real speed from gps is 20km/h then dash2 shows with 2000pulses/mile around 60km/h. Is there a easy way to get this working, i would really like to use the original sensor?

I have reported RT about this problem with Lotus Elises before. Maybe a new hardware version of the Dash2 will incorporate some electronic device that allows the use of multi-teeth ABS rings as fitted to most modern cars as wheel speed sensor.

Our electronic specialist made a small PCB with a device that divides the number of pulses so that the input range of the Dash2 will be met. Additionally there are some things to make the Dash2 work better.

The Dash2 straight out of the box is not fully working in the Elises without additional electronics or sensors.

The maximum number depends on the maximum speed and tyre circumference.
You'll have to have very small tyres for 21 teeth to be too many.
