Apologies in advance if this has already been covered I did look but couldn't see anything..
Here goes!!..
I've been having trouble getting my speedo to register I had put it down to my trigger wheel teeth being too small so I changed that, still no joy...
I tested my sensor on the car (gave it power then tested the voltage over the signal and earth wires ) NOTHING!!
took it off the car and scratched my head a bit..
Then tested it directly to a 12v battery.. and it worked!!!
It appears the guy who made my look has only given the hall effect sensor 5v not 12!!
IF I get a new sensor that operates at the lover voltage, will the dash be able to pick up a 0-5v signal as opposed to a 0-12v one?????
Or am I going to have to tear the harness apart start again
Hall effect wheel speed sensor..
Re: Hall effect wheel speed sensor..
Actually... hang on... I can just run a wire from the 5v feed pin to the signal pin and make/break connection manually to see if it registers cant I?????
Re: Hall effect wheel speed sensor..
Turns out a 0-5v hall effect sensor can work the dash!!!
This was by just waving a steel bolt over the end of the magnet
Next job is to start sorting the other inputs out and the gear ratios...
