Negative oil pressure
Using RT oil pressure sensor on a dash 2 and I'm getting a -3 reading for oil pressure when the ignition is switched on but motor isn't running. Why not zero?

Hello,
The sensor equation for pressure in psi is P = 36.25*volts - 18.12
Volts = (P+18.25)/36.25
0 psi should be 0.5 volts
-3psi = 0.417 volts
The sensor is accurate to 1% of the 145psi full scale which equals a minimum reading of 0.46v at 0 psi.
This means one or a combination of the following...
* Sensor out of spec
* DASH2 calibration error
* Poor sensor connection
I suspect it is a combination, if the offset is constant I recommend you change the equation to 36.25*volts - 15.12. Alternatively measure the voltage going into the DASH from the sensor with a multi-meter and a good ground to determine the problem.
If the problem is sensor calibration or DASH calibration please contact
