Hello,
I am racing a Lotus Elise without an ABS system on board and want to upgrade the informations the DL1 MK3 is gathering. For this reason I want to swap the current hub / wheel bearing without speed sensors to the ones with a speed sensor. Both bearings are identical because the later, Toyota powered Elises came with an ABS.
The sensor offers 2 wires. Sadly I have not so many information about the details of the sensor: Is it a Hall effect sensor or a Reed switch? Hopefully it is not an inductive type proximity detector switch. Does anybody have this info?
And next is the wiring to the DL1. Is it just plug and play? +5V to the one cable and the other one to the frequency input?
Thanks a lot!
Regards, Jo

Yes for 2 wire, you will likely need a converter box. Variable Reluctance sensors.
One of these is required:

If you are handy with electrical diagrams, you can home brew one. A variable reluctance conditioner and a divider.

I use these for wheel speed sensing http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/hall-effe ... s/7659328/
