Newbie Baffled Need Help Sensors

Postby K567 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 4:14 pm

Hi
Dash 2 with Fuel/Oil pressure Racetech sensors, all wired correct and checked, dash does not read them on analogue channels???

I'm baffled

ok Ive checked all the wiring again

on the 5v output I have fluctuating 0-1.8v
on all buttons i have a solid 5v

at all sensors of 5v ref line 0-1.8v

seems 5v reference output is not working correct

can this be fixed with a reflash?

what else can I do....

I would start by disconnecting the sensors... it sounds like you've either got a bad sensor or a wiring fault that is putting the 5v line down. It is protected , and it sounds like this protection is coming in.

I've checked everything 3 times over

there is no 5v coming from the dash2

ended up wiring via 5v ref from dta s40 ecu

now works

only issue now the figures

using RT Pressure and EGT sensors and get massively out of scale readings

ie engine off 4.9bar pressure?

Suggest stripping out the conversions so you are looking directly at raw voltage data and see if it makes sense.

99% of pressure sensors will read the full voltage scale at the full pressure range and are linear.

stripped everything back again just to make sure, ran each sensor individually on dash 2 ( still no 5v )
so utilised 5v and sensor ground from DTA S40
1st sensor tested EGT kit 5v short 2519ma
2nd fuel pressure no issues
3rd oil pressure no issues
4th oil temp no issues

ran a few range tests on the 3 working sensors all seem to work fine and show correct readings

EGT Kit is at fault it appears tested with and without sensor connected to amp box same result showing a short ground warning at 2529ma
