Anyone with F&R brake press senders want to exchange dat

Postby disquek » Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:23 am

Hi,

I'm really questioning the output of these senders.

Does anyone else have both F&R senders and care to exchange data?

I use an off the shelf Honeywell sender. 0.5-4.5vdc output. BMW M Coupe, essentially an e36 M3 brake system. Full brake pressure at threshold is ~1,300 psi. Normally around the 6-900 psi range for a typical slowing down.

I don't have a rear sensor though.

Thanks for the data point.

My brake pressure (front or rear) is in the 300-400psi at threshold range per these sensors.

Thats seems unreasonably low.

I'm going to contact Tilton and see what their thoughts are.

IIRC, the M3 pedal ratio is in the 4.2 range with OE booster.
MC size is 25mm and the front piston is 60mm dia and the rear piston is 40mm dia.

You should be able to do the basic math to figure out how much pressure you should see in the system based on the pedal ratios and MC size. You should be in the 1,000psi range for a dual master setup when you push with ~200lb of force on the pedal.

Have you checked the formula in the analysis package?

if ur questioning the reliablity of the sensor, use a pressure gauge to verify

i try to make custom equations, i know it takes a lot of the fun out of it...
