monitoring an N75 frequency valve

Postby felix » Mon Oct 15, 2007 8:37 am

I would like to monitor the ECU's control of the N75 frequency valve (see http://www.msi-motor-service.com/ximage ... en_web.pdf for an example). This is often used on turbocharged German cars to control the wastegates. On my car it would appear to have a constant 12v supply and the ground is switched to activate the valve. Apologies if I'm missing something obvious but how can I monitor this valve? Thanks in advance...

Use a hall effect current sensor wrapped around the 12v power feed wire. When the valve is triggered, the device will detect current flow and convert it to an analogue voltage that can feed into any 5 or 12v channel on the DL-1
