Set car parameters using metric formulas ?

Postby labr_dk » Wed Apr 18, 2007 6:06 am

(also posted in Installation problems)

I just bought the AP22, and has installed it a few days ago.

However I am having problems calculating the correct factors for CdA and RR since the formula's in the installations guide is only usable for mph measurements.
If I translate, I would have to let my car roll from 96.5->88,6 kmh
and from 24,1->16,1 kmh.
Those numbers are pretty hard to read

Thanks for any insight.
Lars
Ps. Does anyone have "accurate" calculated values for a Saab 9-5 aero (from year 2000) ?

The power measurements are not terribly sensitive to small variations in those coefficients, especially for testing at low to moderate speeds.

There are several sites on the Internet that list these types of parameters, of course most are to attributed to known sources.

For getting the measurements yourself, why don't you use the AP22 in time/speed mode? Or you can 97>89 and 24 > 16 on the speedo, those would be close enough.

Hope that helps,

Ok - I didn't realise that the values were used "only" for calculating HP values hence that I could use the meter itself :-)

Thanks
Lars
