'Car Constants' vs 'Vehicle Constants'

Postby Applejack » Fri Jun 22, 2007 5:10 pm

I'm trying to use a gear ratio that I've got stored in my *.CAR file as a parameter in a 'User Variable' equation. The only things listed are 'Car Constants'.

If I go into the 'Vehicle Options' there are 'Vehicle Constants' on their own tab. These are not visible when editing equations in the 'Variable Manager'.

On the 'Gears' tab of the 'Vehicle Options' I can enter the gear ratios, but it doesn't call them out as the 'Car Constants' that are available in the 'Variable Manager'

Do I have to re-type the gear ratios into the 'Vehicle Constants'? Are those 'Vehicle Constants' really the 'Car Constants' I can choose in the equation editor?

Thanks

Is there already a solution? I would like the ratios for calculating wheel slip. Is it possible to use the vehicle constants to calulate variables?
