I installed a string pot for my steering angle. I simply want it to record a negative 1 when the steering wheel is turned 1 revolution left and a positive 1 when the steering wheel is turned 1 rev to the right, and interpolate between those.
In the MK3, if my equation is simply "X", it correctly shows the voltage values of 2.254V when 1 turn left, and 3.932V when 1 turn to the right.
So I fit a line using these values
Voltage ___ Y
2.254 ___ -1
3.932 ___ +1
Giving this equation: Y=(1.19*X)-3.69
But if I use this linear equation, it only shows the positive values. basically when I turn to the right, it shows correctly, but when I turn to the left, it registers Zero always.
Please help.
Thanks,
David
