dash 2 lap times for open track - hillclimb or rally special

Postby Walezy » Tue May 24, 2011 10:11 am

I use my car for rallies and hillclimb so the track is open. Is it possible to have sector times set up to be displayed on the dash 2(i am using it with DL1)?
I would like to get something like this:
- make first run and record my time(start / finish coordinates taken from GPS)
-next runs will be compared to first or best run(whatever is quicker)
- i set up markers by myself on longer straights to have time to check it :)

Here is a youtube link to my car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgc0gZy3omY

I've not done it with an open ended hill climb, but on a closed circuit, the best method is to use the analysis program to create your .lap file for sector times. It takes some time between runs though. If you can't get a recon run in before the timed runs. If you can, then you can set sector times directly on the Dash2. You can also save the runs in the dash. That needs to be done prior to shutting it down.

The vid you linked was broken, but there are some nutty cars on related videos! Motorcycle motors in micro cars - what a blast!

I have tested this. seems to work ok but how to make it so that the lap timer will start at the start of run marker and stop at end of run marker. I have the possibility to make a recon run so no problem to prepare lap file. i even have a run saved from that stage now so can do it now to have it ready on the sunday event.

I do not believe the DASH2 supports this type of continuous timer display, it only displays the time when you cross your sector "beacons".

In that case it is a high time to make this upgrade in next firmware :)
