what is a root directory??

Postby zx10r14 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 11:58 am

on the help menu bit it says 'save the configuration to the root menu of a cf card'
what is a root menu?
on my computer i can only 'send to.....'
i am struggling to save the configuration to the card and the dl1 dash2 to change the display to what i've 'sent to....' the card.
i'm getting to the end of my rope with this now,
it took 4hrs 10mins to format my card yesterday!! and then it still had the previous screens!!
i'm not having fun with this anymore.

The "root folder" or "root directory" is the storage area immediately off the drive letter when viewed in Windows Explorer (NOT "Internet Explorer"!). All other folders (directories) are nested inside the root.

In this image since Drive D: is selected on the left side of the window, the contents of D:'s root directory are displayed on the right -- the sub-directories "Acronis, DVD1, DVD2" etc.
