VOB oil temp and water temp formula

Postby sleepless » Sun May 07, 2006 8:29 pm

I've used the VOB config to setup my analog inputs but the VOB is not displaying the correct values; the Analysis program is displaying the correct values.

I have both setup as follows:

1: Water temp F
2: Oil Temp F
3: Oil Press PSI
4: Air Temp F

Water temp and oil temp are not correct.

Here is a video (also notice that there is a stray "NG" in the upper left corner of the display that the VOB is overlaying on the video): http://www.hpaownersclub.com/elise/thil ... 3%2006.wmv

Observe the WT and OT values.

Here is the DL1 log file for those two laps. You'll see that the water and oil temps are much more reasonable (roughly 200F and 240F respectively).

And my variables file: http://www.hpaownersclub.com/elise/var.var

And my VOB config file: http://www.hpaownersclub.com/elise/Dash.dat

Morning,

Okay... I think I've found the problem.

You've got the number of decimal places for the temperatures set to "2" for both oil and water, so the VOB is trying to display the results as xx.xx, but obviously they are normally over 100. The issue you is as soon as the temperatures go >100 then the VOB can't display all the digits correctly.

I think if you set the number of decimal places to be "1" to get the format to xxx.x then it will all be fine - at least everything was 100% on our bench setup.

Thanks

Changing the decimal places from 2 to 1 worked! Thanks.
