Re: GPS lock with older DL-1 Club

@racetec, what is the original 10-bit 1024 week date on the DL1 Club? Has it reached the end of its epoch, along with the DL1s? You did not reply to our forum thread discussion last year, so one can reaosnably wonder if this is the same problem. https://www.race-technology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: Date Time stamp on files incorrect

Just to wrap this up...it's been implied to me that there's "zero chance" that R-T will offer a firmware upgrade to our DL-1s...so we'll just have to deal with the dates being off 1024 weeks if we continue using them. Opinion: while I "get" the whole "legacy products" concept - after all, these are ...

Re: Date Time stamp on files incorrect

Martyn, you ticked it: someone just told me "GPS includes a 10 bit counter for week number that only gets you 1024 weeks".

So it would take a firmware update to overcome this.

R-T Support, any chance of this happening?

Greg

Re: Date Time stamp on files incorrect

My suspicion is that some effective epoch has expired and the timestamp data is wrapping, hence the fixed offset that both of us are seeing. I think may be on to something. I used my Mk2 all this past weekend at the Lime Rock Historics and I got dates of 040116 on Friday (01Sept23) through 010119 o...

Re: Date Time stamp on files incorrect

Al, you think this could be a dead battery issue? You told me that the DL1 (mine's a Mk2) uses the onboard battery to remember GPS position; I'm wondering if it would work if these racers would fire up the DL1 and let is sit for some time (3-5 minutes) to ensure they have GPS lock before starting lo...

Re: Display no alternator output as an alarm on dash

I set an alarm based on voltage. Anything less than 12.5V with RPM >500 puts an alarm on my dash.

Re: Vehicle speed bmw e30 options?

Given that rally cars will rarely have driven wheels at road speed (tire slip), and sometimes not even un-driven wheels, why not just use GPS?

Re: Brake Warning Light - 0V to Activate?

Clever! But I don't think that'll work, as there won't be any voltage potential with an open circuit either. Or is actually looking to GROUND that wire to engage the light? Then the above makes sense. "0V" is a voltage potential which is not the same as "grounded to chassis". In the former situation...

Re: Careful if u upgrade PC or reload Parallels (Mac)...Repurchase

Any suggestions?
Buy VMWare Workstation.

Install all your licensed products into the VM instance.

Move the VM instance to whatever asset you're using at the time.

Profit.

Re: Fuel level display

Any time I'm using a generic sensor - such as the stock sender with a pull-up resistor like the Haltech - then I calibrate the whole thing myself. - Config the dash to show bare voltage output - Empty the tank - Add in a small known quantity of fuel, such as a gallon or liter - Let the system settle...

How did you add 20 liters?

What are you using for a level sender?

Re: DL1 mk2 and CF formatting again

Despite the Win10 GUI indicating is it formatting to FAT16, the Windows 10 native GUI formats to a newer FAT16 LBA, which the legacy DL1 devices do not recognize. To be technically precise, the legacy DL1s are looking for 0x06 FAT16 where Windows 10 formats to 0x0E FAT16 (LBA). I did find that most ...
