G'day Tim, The documentation says to only power the unit up after you have started the engine to avoid the problems you outlined. An alternative is to power the unit with a remote battery pack. G'day Marco,
For engine mapping, we use the Honeywell/TI units.There are two models
a) 5 bar absolute, which means and output range of 4 bar pressure and full vacuum.
b) 0-100psi - pressure only

Nice solution David. The connectors on the DL1 and DL2 are really not suitable for repeated connecting and disconnecting (aka high insertion rate). G'day Jason, To take the RPM signal directly from the coil (LT) means that you need to be particularly careful with your RPM GND. I use 2 core twisted and shielded wire if I need to go to the coil.
