HowDoI / ReflashFromADL1

How do I re-flash my DASH2 from a DL1?

By re-flashing your DASH2, the latest software will be installed onto it. Typically, this is only required when requested by the factory to address an issue in the firmware. Note there is a small risk when re-flashing the DASH2 that you will corrupt the unit. If you are re-flashing the unit following an instruction from the factory, then this will be covered within the standard warrantee - if however you are re-flashing the unit without being instructed to then you will be charged for the factory to reset the unit. We would recommend that you don't re-flash the unit unless it is required.

Step 1: To re-flash the DASH2 from the DL1, connect the two together using the supplied serial connection cable and turn both the DL1 and the DASH2 on.

Step 2: Insert a newly formatted Compact Flash Card into your computer.

Step 3: Drag the DASH.HEX file into the drive that contains the Compact Flash Card.

Step 4: Once the file has been loaded, take the card and insert it into the DL1.

Step 5: The DASH2 will now be automatically re-flashed... which being re-flashed the fog light on the DASH2 with flash and it will not respond to button presses.

Step 6: When the re-flash has completed (this typically takes a few minutes) turn the DASH2 off, then back on to resume normal operation

If the re-flashing fails for any reason fails, simply turn off the DASH2, turn it back on again and repeat the process as above.
