ECUType / EMSStinger8860-6860And4860

EMS Stinger 8860, 6860 and 4860 ECUs

The EMS serial – Race Technology interface connects between an EMS Stinger ECU and either a data logger or a dashboard enabling monitoring of all the data channels. The data input rate from the ECU is set at 19200 baud, which is compatible with the Stinger ECU and some versions of the 8860 ECU.

The data sent to the data logger or dashboard is as follows:

ECU Name Race Technology message Race Technology Default name Race Technology VAR number Resolution
Engine Speed Engine RPM RPM VAR_0010 0.1 Hz
Throttle angle 1 Throttle angle VAR_3000 0.1o
Barometric pressure pressure 1 Ambient air pressure VAR_3500 1 mBar
Lambda 1 misc 1 Lambda 1 VAR_4000 0.01 lambda
Lambda 2 misc 2 Lambda 2 VAR_4001 0.01 lambda
Air temperature temperature 1 temperature 1 VAR_1000 0.1 oC
Coolant temperature temperature 8 Water temp VAR_1007 0.1 oC
Ignition angle 2 Ignition angle VAR_3001 0.1o BTDC
Injection time measured time 1 Fuel inj 1 PW on VAR_2500 1 ms
Battery voltage misc 3 Battery voltage VAR_4002 0.01 V

The channel numbers for the data as used within the Race Technology analysis software are as follows: (Main channel . Sub channel)

Name Race Technology Name
Engine speed 67.1
Throttle 93.1
Barometric pressure 94.1
Lambda 1 95.1
Lambda 2 95.2
Air temperture 66.1
Coolant temperature 66.8
Ignition 93.2
Injection time 69.1
Battery voltage 95.3

Note - Not all channels listed in the table(s) above may be available from your ECU. This can be dependent on the vehicle model & year of manufacture.
