BRAKEBOX / DisplayMode

BRAKEBOX "Display Mode" menu

Within the display mode there are 3 different options, namely:

  • Speed. This mode shows the current speed as measured by the GPS system and the estimated accuracy of the speed measurement. The units of speed are as set in the configuration menu.
  • Heading. This mode shows the current speed and heading as measured by the GPS system. The units of speed are as set in the configuration menu. The heading will only be meaningful when the vehicle is in motion.
  • Absolute Position. This mode shows the current position as a longitude and latitude as a decimal degree.
  • Satellite Status. This mode shows the number of satellites that the GPS system can currently track and the quality of the GPS signal. This mode is ideal for assessing whether a particular test site is suitable for testing and diagnosing any GPS related technical issues.

In all 3 display modes the information is only displayed in real time on the screen, nothing else is calculated by the unit and no results are stored to memory. The display modes are intended to help the user verify that the unit is operating correctly and the satelites are being track etc. The speed mode may also be useful if an accurate speedometer is required in the car for testing other equipment.
