DASH2 Configuration Software

The DASH2 data display unit can be configured to display many variables in a variety of ways. Most of the configuration options are carried out using the DASH2 Configuration Utility, while others may be performed on the DASH2 display itself.

The DASH2 Configuration Utility is used to create a data file which, in conjunction with a DL1, AX22 or DL2, can be used to configure the DASH2 to display the various data values available from the DL1 or DL2. The DASH2 configuration utility is very simple and intuitive to use and allows a wide range of parameters to be configured. Which channels to display, channel scaling, alarm levels, shift light configuration, channel display format, gear indicator parameters, rpm scale parameters, and many other DASH2 features can all be easily set up with the DASH2 Configuration Utility.

The configuration data file (always called dash.dat) contains the layout and channel information for the DASH2, and must be placed on the compact flash card in order to transmit the information to the DASH2.

With communication established between the AX22, the DL1 or the DL2 and the DASH2 (simply connecting them and turning them on should do it, assuming that the communications baud rate is set correctly). Insert the compact flash card containing the dash.dat file into data logger, which will recognize the dash.dat file and transmit the information contained within to the DASH2. The DASH2 will then save this data to internal memory, so that if the you do not need to change the settings, you do not need to include the dash.dat file on the Compact Flash Card each time the unit is subsequently powered up.
