Google image behind track map

Postby dalec1 » Sat Feb 26, 2011 12:07 pm

Hi

I have looked through the Forum and knowledge base, but I am stumped!

I can see the track on Google maps directly (Harewood Hillclimb north of Leeds LS17 9LA), but I can't get it to load as a background in the analysis software.

Using the normal button gives a very pixelated mush. Best Quality gives an error message - 'Sorry, unable to download a background map at this time'.

Any advice please?

:?

The second message I receive when I have a low bandwidth connection.
It seems that the software "thinks" that the connections is that slow that you better should try it later.

Cheers
Chris

Thanks MadMarx

I do have relatively slow broadband (about 1.5mb) so that may be it. Yet as you say it looks like the software is saying it is too slow, even though I can get at it directly.

Maybe as this is a "racing" software it is not prepared to go slow

I have a similar problem.... Analysis will download a Street Map every time, but it has yet to download a Satellite Map. It says "Sorry, unable to download a map at this time". It doesn't matter which quality I set.

I've tried two different computers (Win 7 and XP), and data from two different places in NC.

You need a quick DSL line, beyond 3000 or more.

My cable line is very fast. I download at 1.2 MB/s sometimes.

You need >3Mb/s to make it work. I don't know why but that seems to work.
I have a fast UMTS stick that does work and I have a 1MB/s cable DSL on which I get the same message as you.

I do have > 3Mb/s.

1.2MB/s = 10Mb/s = 10000Kb/s. Note the big and little B's! :)

Is your track near a military installation? The one place it doesn't work for me isn't far from and air force base. Works for other tracks for me.
