I recently purchased a Kart for autocross (KM) use. For those not familiar with the rules, it has a Honda 125cc motor that makes around 42hp. It's brutally fast, and very bumpy.
Since I already have a DL-1... I'd love to use it in the Kart. Can the DL-1 handle the vibrations and the rapid change of movement?

Speed = rate of change of distance
Acceleration = rate of change of speed
Jerk = rate of change of acceleration
So it's how fast you change direction of turning, or from accelerating to braking, or vice-versa. I don't understand how a kart's jerk would matter with an accelerometer reading at 200 Hz, but they know their product better than I do.
I know the FSAE teams use DL1s successfully, but they are a bit heavier than karts. At the very least I'd try it after figuring out a good rubber mounting scheme to reduce high-frequency vibrations getting into the unit. (I'm picturing a platform about 3x the size of the DL1 with soft rubber isolation mounts on all 4 corners - tough to fit on a kart)

I apologise for my misinformed message regarding Jerk. I am not an engineer (I work in the admin team) and was trying to help. Corey's definition of Jerk is far more accurate than mine.
I have been told that it is not the accelerometer that has the issue, it is in fact the GPS that does not like high jerk.
This is the reason that we do not recommend our data loggers for use in Karts.
