Log Status not working on new unit

Postby 2gmotorsports » Mon May 15, 2006 2:05 am

I have a new DL1 and all appears fine except the status logging light. When logging is occurring, the status light output holds steady at 7.8 mV with nothing connected. Thus it will not drive an LED. I have an LED for use as this status light and when connected to the 12 V supply it turns on and draws 15.5 mV. I assume I have a "bad unit." Any ideas? Will the unit need to be returned?
Thanks,

Gary

If you're talking about the log status pin on the unit, it's not a voltage source but a voltage sink - you power your led from the 5v analog reference pin and connect the other end to the log status (via a suitable resistor of course) pin.

Thanks. Will retry tonight. The instructions are confusing as it says "active high." Not sure what this is supposed to mean.
Thanks,
