I didn't find this information elsewhere so I thought I'd create a new post to share it here.
With a 996.1 Carrera it is possible to feed RPM to the DL1 Mk3 via the rL input. It is simply a case of running a wirefrom OBD2 Pin 9 (The pin in the lower left hand corner of the OBD2 socket this pin is connected to the ECU RPM output line which the tachometer in the instrument cluster uses) to the rL (Rpm Low) pin of the DL1 Mk3 plug. The DL1 software needs to be configured with Low RPM enabled and THREE pulses per revolution.
If displaying the RPM information on the DASH 3 numerically, the DL1 serial output needs to be configured to enable the RPM output and the DASH3 display should include a 4 digit RPM numeric display.
