Dash 2 - Voltage on Analogue Channel

I have read on the forum that it is possible to display battery voltage on an analogue channel.

My question is does the cable from the voltage source need to go through a pull up resistor or directly into an analogue input.

Battery positive direct to an analog in.

The analog ins are just fancy volt meters.
