Installation Question Motor DL1mk2 + Dash 3

Postby Buckie » Thu Dec 11, 2014 1:03 pm

Hej Guys!

I just bought this awesome system but im exploring the options of retrieving the data from the device.
because it will be installed on a motor ( R6 ) i want to place the DL1 inside buddy wich i cant easily access to get the CF card.

Is there an option to recieve the data logged on the DL1 CF card by using a serial cable?
Can this also be done while the dash is connected?

I also looked into the option to extend the CF card to external. I order some parts for this and ill post this when i know more.

Ok bummer.

In order to calibrate my sensors i need to get my live data working.
But somehow my serial cable to my pc isnt working correctly.
Is there anywhere a sheet available to make a new serial cable to use with live monitor?

Or do i need to activate it?

The cable required is a standard null modem>>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_modem

If you wish to make your cable then you only need pins 2 3 and 5. They need connecting as follows between 2 female 9 way d type connectors

5 - 5
2 - 3
3 - 2

Serial port issues are a common problem. Are you sure the port on the computer is working correctly?

What port number is it showing up as in the lite monitor software?

I tried almost everything.
To be sure.

Made myself a USB2COM

5 = GND
2 = TX
3 = RX

Should be right not?

Hello,

If you are sure the computer and cable are working correctly then it sounds like there is a problem with your DL1 and I recommend you send it back for servicing. Please email service at race - technology . com and ask for an RMA.

If you are not sure about the computer serial port and cable then I recommend you buy the ones below. The driver for the adaptor comes as part of the race technology software and offers plug and play.
