DL1 not logging speed/software not auto generating markers

Hi,
Installed and tried my new DL1 yesterday. It is not
logging speed but does show some data - lap time, max of long
accel, min of long accel in the summary statistics window.
Do I need to configure the DL1 to log speed? I'd assume that logging speed would be one of the defaults.

Also, programatically adding markers (after adding the lap
marker) doesn't do anything using my first set of data but it did work with some sample data I downloaded from this forum. Anybody any ideas why that may be the case?

Software version is 6.3.100

I assume from your post that you are getting a track map and that the GPS lock light is flashing?

But that the speed trace is showing zero - presumably in the graphs?

You are right that speed should be enabled by default. There are two places that it could be turned off - and thus can be turned back on again. One is in the DL1 configuration utility and the other is in the Analysis software, under Data > Variable Manager.

Yes, everything looked good with the lights on the DL1. There is zero speed showing in all windows that I open. I've checked the variable manager and speed is ticked and the configuration utility also says it is active although I haven't yet tried updating the logger with the SETUP>BIN file I've created from the utility.

Unless you can suggest anything else I'll try it again tomorrow.

Any suggestions on the adding markers problem?

You do have a reasonable looking map, right? If so, you should have good GPS data.

Try updating the DL1 with a default setup.bin file.

Also, if you have a smallish piece of logged data you can email it to me at aseim@race-technology.com and I'll take a look.

I think we should tackle the speed data issue first as it could be causing the track marker issue, and strikes me as more fundamental.
