Sector Analysis for e.g. Hillclimb/Rally Stage

I've been trying to setup some sector time analysis on a point to point run I did (DL1). It was not for anything specific, just more to see how it is done and so far I have failed.

I am quite happy setting markers and defining sectors for laps but when I try the same on a point-to-point run I don't seem to get any sector times?
The column headings do appear in the Lap & Sector Times table but no times are shown.

Am I missing something here?

For an open circuit like a hill climb or autocross, label the first marker as "start of run" and the last one as "end of run".
