Driver and Mode values

Postby BiKenG » Thu Jul 30, 2015 7:57 am

There are many things to be set when configuring a D2P, but which parameters are 'global' and which exist for each Driver/Mode configuration?

This is obviously quite crucial information when trying to create the optimum configuration of the entire unit, but so far I have completely failed to find ANY reference to this in ANY of the documentation. This is the sort of lack that has made getting to grips with the D2P take far longer than it should. It would really help to have this made clear in the manual.

Could anyone (Support?) please provide a comprehensive list of (or other method to distinguish between) every parameter and whether it is global or local to Driver/Mode?

Bump.

I'd really appreciate it if support could take a look at this and provide such a list. It would make config much simpler to know what's global and what is not.

Hi,

there really is no right or wrong answer to this, as EVERYTHING can be set either locally on a particular driver or mode combination or can be set globally throughout all configuration sets.

In the default setup of the software, every setting will be applied globally across all configurations. This is to aid ease of use for the first time user.

By going to "Configuration Set" in the task bar of the software followed by "Names/edit Options". You'll see a number of different editting options, as shown in the picture below;

From this, you can set the software to only apply the changes to the particular configuration set currently selected, apply the changes to all the modes for that particular 'Driver' and also apply the changes to all drivers for the currently selected mode.

You also have the ability should you wish, to copy a complete configuration from one setting to another. using the copy option.

The way this is set up, means that these settings can be accessed and changed on the fly, meaning you are never locked in to any particular editting mode.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Aha, so there are NO global settings. But when editing, the settings can be applied globally, or to a specified combination. OK, that makes sense. Thanks.
