From what I can see, the "log status" output of the DL1 Mk1 should be able to control a Go-Pro camera if the signal is inverted. This can be easily done with a transistor or reed relay.
Are there any other hardware or software issues that will prevent me from making this work? I wanted to check before purchasing the Go-Pro license and cable package.

Hello,
The DL1 Mk1 pulls to ground which is what is needed to trigger the gopro but it stays at ground.
What you need it a short pulse about 1 second to switch it on and about 2 seconds pulse to switch it off.
This is why it is not possible with the DL1 mk1.
Kind regards,
