Video out signal from the Video4 unit is monochrome.

Postby Lale » Tue Apr 29, 2014 2:26 pm

I have problem with the Video Out signal from the Video4-unit.
The Video In signal is correct because the video4-file is saved in color but when I use the Video Out signal to another Display it is monochrome.
I have configured a VGL-file and I have used a PAL Background Image.
Any suggestions??

There are 2 hardware options when you download the VIDEO4 Firmware update and these were to combat this issue where some displays showed video as monochrome.

It does mean reflashing your VIDEO4 so if you are nervous of this then maybe live with the mono display but if you want to do it, download the lastest VIDEO4 firmware and you will see 2 folders 'hardware a' and 'hardware b' each of which contains a slightly different UPDATE.RT6 file (the firmware).

This from the README file
"Also, please note that this file contains 2 version of the firmware, which are almost identical except for the settings for the real time video output. Most units should use the UPDATE.RT6 in "Hardware b", however if you find that the video output is either B&W or not working then please use the file in the directory "Hardware a".

Please note that in all other ways the 2 firmware versions are the same and will not affect the recorded image or any other functions - only the real time video output."
