Checking a 20Hz GPS unit?

Postby TCR » Tue Jul 13, 2010 6:32 am

Hi guys,

I have just purchased a 2nd hand DL1 which is suppose to be an upgraded 20Hz unit.

How can I check to see if it is?

Every DL1 has 20Hz hardware, in order to enable the 20Hz data in the Analysis software you need a licence file. This is linked with the DL1 serial number. You therefore need to contact the seller to get this information.

Ok, I've contacted the seller and they've informed me that version 7 of the Analysis Software, automatically processes the 20Hz code, so I shouldn't need a licence file, does that sound right?

I'm currently running version 7.5.87 of the analysis software.

You will just have to try and see, all 20Hz serial numbers should be supported in the latest version of the software.
If you go into "Data\Analysis options -> GPS options" then you can select to use the raw GPS data which gives you the option of using the 20Hz GPS.

The very latest version of the Analysis software is 7.5.113.

Ok, I've updated to the latest software 7.5.113.

I'd seen the "use raw GPS data" option before but because it had "(DL2) only" I didn't think it was relevant to the DL1.

So I went into Data > Analysis Options > GPS Options and I get this screen:

Click OK and get this screen:

Click Yes and the data begins to re-process. Half way through the re-processing I get this:

Click OK and then this screen pops up:

Click OK and then the data finishes re-processing.

Does this mean I need to get the 20Hz licence from the previous owner?

Where in the software do I input the licence key once I have it?

Paul.

Yes you will need the licence file from the previous owner. The licence file is called CODES.BIN and you need to replace the file currently in use with the one from the previous owner. Generally the licence file is found in C:\Program Files\RaceTechnologyV7\Otherfiles

Thanks, I'll contact the previous owner again and try to get the licence file.

One other quesion, if I have the analysis software installed on two different computers (desktop & laptop) can I put the licence file into both, or will it only work with one?

The licence file will work on as many PCs as you like, its only linked with the DL1 serial number.
