DASH3 configuration ?

Postby jpmagne » Tue Sep 02, 2008 2:46 pm

hi,

I try to get DASH3 configuration in dash3 configuration soft.

DASH3 is connected to a PC with a direct serial output.(not USB).

i select -> file-> read configuration from device.

i select the port, get file, and i get "can't detect the sequence".

i have never send any file to dash.

i want to see the default configuration file.

what can i do ?

thanks for your help,

jpm

Snap, same issue. How do you get the basic configuration out of the Dash 3 to then be able to tinker with it in the software? Does not seem to come with the software download.

You cant just hook the dash3 to the PC. The Dash3 unit needs to be powered by 12v at pin 7 in the dsub. Either by the adapter from RaceTech or simply make an adapter where you connect +12v at pin 7 on the dash3 and GND at pin 5. It is very convenient to configure the unit directly from the PC instead of using the other procedure involving Flashcard and the DL1 since you can sit by your desk and see the results directly on the display.

Thanks

Maybe inclusion of the adaptor with the device might have been useful?

Perhaps a quick workaround would be to at least email (me please!) out the basic configuration file if people want to tinker with that.
