Exporting Bar Chart data to Excel

Postby RussTypeS » Wed Dec 14, 2005 9:28 pm

Like the topic says, I would like to export the results of a Bar Chart to a csv file. If nothing else It would be nice to have the crosshairs show up with the box to tell you the exact value for each bar.

If you could do the copy-paste trick with bar charts like you could with xy graphs, that would be perfect..

If anyone knows a way to do this in excel using the standard export data, that would be very helpful...

there is no way to di it directly... obviously you can export any range of data using the data export window in v6.

The problem is calculating frequency % in excel, AFAIK there is no way to do that. Any chance of an enhancement for a future version?

What do you mean by "frequency %" ?

Its easy enough to create your own bar charts in excel... just export all samples of the relevant channel into excel and then use the chart wizard to create the chart accordingly.

A picture is worth 1k words...

It shows what percent of the time I'm at what speed.

It can't be too hard to add functionality to do this, considering you can do it with the xy graph...

IUsing excel...

You might need to change from frequency as a count to frequency as a percentage of total counts. Just create another coulm and divide by the total sum data items. Format cells to show as percentage.
