Dash2 Pro Advanced Alarms, Green Shift Light Option

Postby oddlimbs » Sat May 24, 2014 7:32 pm

I'm considering upgrading my Dash2 to a Dash2 Pro and have been perusing the software, I feel that it would be good to add the above functionality, as green shift lights could be used for an "information" alarm.

Thanks for that. I'll add it to the list of customer requests for this.

No, we wanted to fit those but due to PCB routing issues we couldn't get them in, so it will be bi-colour LEDs I'm afraid.

What about a small 4 layer shiftlight "daughter board" mounted to main PCB with simple connector system such as soldered PTH ? The daughter board having SMD RGB controller IC(s), SMD RGB leds etc

Too complicated and expensive for the benefits. The current LEDs sit close to the PCB so there wouldn't be much room for an extra board to sit in between them. The most obvious way would be to add layers to the current board to get the tracks through, but again the costs involved outweigh the benefits.
