Track Map Backgrounds

Postby Jet-Tech » Mon Oct 18, 2010 7:29 am

The track map backgrounds from Google earth are OK but not always available, it would be much better to use a jpeg (or similar image file) as a background.

The image file could be then prepared and scaled as required in a suitable resolution using the track features required by the user and of course could also be just a simple screen shot of Google earth.

The internet map tiles are cached by windows, so if you download the graphics when the internet is available then you can use them later when you are offline as well...

Yes I understand that but:

1. Even if I have a connection I may just want to go to a new sector from file not download each time I zoom

2. If it's a new track and it's not on the google earth images, it could be years before the images are updated

Do you really not want racers to use your data loggers each time a track layout is modified (Donnington, Silverstone) or built (Korea) :?:

At least I have some support
