FFT

Postby racecar73 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 2:28 am

Could you add the ability to perform a FFT on data?

I may have missed an existing ability to analyze data in the frequency domain, but I have not seen anything on it in the RT documentation or forum.

Thanks,
Matt Johnson

FFT in Analysis

I'm interested in this FFT feature too.

Would make analysing ride frequencies a bit easier.

Now, what did I do with that latest one million row CSV file...

Currently this is not a feature in the software but we want to add this into our software and it is one of many additions to the software we are working on.
Exporting the data to Matlab and carrying out the analysis there is of course an option, which from your CSV comment you are already aware of! :D

If/when you implement a FFT analysis feature, I would suggest doing it in a way similar to MoTeC i2 Pro: the computational work is not done until you open a tab with the FFT plots on it - that keeps the rest of the analysis from being slowed down.

Picking on this topic from 2009, I agree, FFT would be extremely useful.
