DL-1 Serial ECU Interface - Megasquirt?

Postby WillM » Thu Aug 14, 2008 10:12 pm

Can or will the DL-1 serial ECU interface work with Megasquirt ECU's?

It would be great to integrate DL-1, Dash3, and Megasquirt!

Hi,
I don't believe that we have any information on the Megasquirt ECU. If you could forward to me any details you have on the serial or CAN protocol then I'll let you know if we can do anything with it. Please send the information to mhill at race-technology.com

Regards,
Martin

Hi!

I am very interested as well! As is have a megasquirt running - can you confirm that you only need a copy of the current serial datastream or do you require a dedicated explanation of the protocol?

Hi Support,

i have some further informations about the Data-Structure of the Current MS2/Extra serial Output (115.2kbit, 8N1):

See http://home.comcast.net/~whaussmann/RS2 ... _RTvar.htm

or

http://home.comcast.net/~whaussmann/RS2 ... _MS2_E.htm

There are some VB6-examples as well.

ill get a copy of the real-time serial data outputted by the MS-unit and post it here.

best regards
carsten

Great, will be using a megasquirt on a mx5 and would be great to get some data from it to the dl1 mark2

Hi,

i personally see no problem, but we need support from RT for the translation. Otherwise, as the MS-stuff is WELL documented - if we got some sources from RT and some hints HOW-TO, it will be no problem, to write the needed module by our own.

i think the MS-community would LOVE to have the DASH2 as a real-time device, as there is no really good digital dash available for the MS, only stuff like car-PC and some kind of dedicated software on it.

RT-Support, can you help us with this?

best regards
carsten

Email the info to Martin (not just post a link), as he's not on the forums all the time. Should be no problem.

Is there any update on this? It seems like it could be straight forward, just a matter of writing the CANBUS program to output the data in the proper format to the DL1, but I am not a software or hardware engineer...

Thank you,

hi,

ALL WITH INTEREST IN THIS HAVE TO MAIL TO RACELOGIC DIRECTLY NOW!

this is the only way to get enough people for race-technology, that they can see that there is some fundamental interest.

so, please MAIL THEM!

What we need for the megasquirt is a sample of data and a description of the format of the data.

The only information we have seen so far about the Megasquirt ECU are lines of code which show where the ECU sets up the output data.

If some of you megasquirt users could get in touch with us via email we will gladly help.
