Dash3 Lap Marker Button
Is it possible to connect an external button to the DL-1 and use it to record lap markers? I have a Mk1 DL-1 and Dash3. The current location (off to the side of the center console) is within easy reach, but easily in view while on-track. In an effort to make better use of the predictive lap timing f...

Adam, What version firmware are you using on the DL-1 and the Vi-PEC V88? I'm using the latest. I'm sure my friend is as well, since all of his equipment is new. If your firmware is current, my guess is that there is an issue with the wiring/connections. Verify that you are using the CAN port on the...

Hi Adam, All relatively good news! My friend's V88 + DL-1 + Serial interface is working well, as far as I know. I believe the original Serial Interface Configuration has changed, and a new Reflash will open up all of the AN Volt inputs (analog volt inputs 1-10). I reflashed my Serial Interface with ...

I believe you need: 1. R-T Serial ECU interface, re-flashed to function with Vi-PEC 2. Vi-PEC Serial cable or flying lead cable A friend just got his Vi-PEC speaking to his DL-1 last night. He tells me that the Vi-PEC serial cable pin-out does not match the R-T serial pinout, so he had to re-pin the...

My ECU (Vi-PEC V88) shipped with a USB tuning cable. Sounds like the test V44 used by R-T came with a serial tuning cable. FYI, serial tuning cables are available from Vi-PEC dealers. I ordered one (a Vi-PEC serial cable), it should be here soon. Question, why doesn't the O2 data carry over? Seems o...

Brake Pressure Sender
What is the correct fitting to use with the RT brake pressure sensor? It does not look like an inverted flare, and doesn't really look like a bubble flare either? What fittings or junction boxes are people using? My car has M10x1.50 inverted flare fittings. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Che...

RPMs max at 8,000
I have an odd problem which I need some help with. I have a DL-1 in my 1996 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which has a built motor. The factory rev limit is 7200 RPM, and I have my redline currently set at 8500 RPM. I pull the tach signal for the DL-1 from the stock instrument cluster, and it works great, but ma...

WillM, As an experiment try removing the seal from the pigtail of your pressure sender and see if you get the same result. The seals come off and back on very easily. It maybe a very slight difference if you have 100psi senders (oil pressure) since the seals likely only create a few psi of pressure...

Kyle, Are these Bosch/BMW pressure sensors the same as the sensors you purchased? Hi Kyle, I will try that next time I have a chance. Probably early next week. I'm very interested to know how these sensor issues pan out for you. I'd like to implement a few more pressure sensors (brake) into my DL-1, but am weary of these issues and having to deal with them. The sensors aren't che...
