My car's been out of action for a while, so maybe a firmware change has cleaned this up, but quite often logging was started (by autostart) when the car was still off the ground in the garage! It was not uncommon to see GPS speeds in excess of the 15 kph start condition before the unit achieved prop...

I would have thought that special anti-vibration mounting would make things safe, but it is not easy. The mounts need to be soft, and its not easy to find anywhere on a Kart that doesn't move with either large deflections because of flimsy brackets or harsh vibration transmitted from a single cylind...

How and to what is the DL1 mounted in the kart? What size tracks do you race on? Performance and durability of kart mounted GPS has traditionally been poor. The harsh environment might explain some of the problems that you have been having. You may even be lucky that the thing still works at all. I ...

My criticism is meant to be collective. Apologies that it comes across as personal. My operative word, wrt a diagnosis, is slip. It is not physically possible, given the applied maths that it's safe to assume is in R-T's algorithm, for slip, or anything that would reduce the tractive effort and hen...

We are not learning. Definitely not clutch slip. It is often said, with reference to computers or programs, that BS in = BS out. In this case, some user inputs may be wrong, but not as wrong as the data and processing that the user can't control. The Newtonian physics and even the drag, is quite sim...

There are simpler ways to do this.

Log some data while the car/logger is stationary. Free the logger from its mounts and rotate it. Stand it on one side for a few seconds and then the other... Then do the for-aft orientations. If you can't be bothered undoing the logger then just rocking the car will produce a sensible trace on the a...

The units you have chosen are wrong if you want RPM to read in the traditional revolutions per minute. A radian is a more mathematical, scientific or theoretical engineering unit of angle. There are two pi (2 x 3.141) radians per rev (360 degrees). You will observe from the above that this should ma...

Sorry Khai, but together we are trying. It might be time for you to contact R-T in Nottingham directly. It is normal for the status light to go solid when a card is inserted - it is looking for instructions and other files... It is more indicative of a card that has problems if it does not go solid ...

Saving the configuration will save the file as SETUP.BIN. I have no idea what happens if you change this filename, but this is not what I'm suggesting. I take it that you have tried to write a log file (by button pressing) with what you have below as the configuration on the SETUP.BIN file but had n...

Perhaps there is something wrong, but fist we need to clear up what might be a language problem. The default SETUP.BIN doesn't start logging "automatically". Let's just use automatic for when an Auto Start (and perhaps stop) condition is set. Yes, various external parameter values can be u...

If you look at the revision history (download area) update notes for 7.3.20 you'll see a new feature. It was useless in that version and created some forum posts... I suspect it will never amount to anything other than a gimmick, but some users may find it a useful diversion from more important thin...
