Unless the Gotech provides a serial data stream (of which the format is also published) you will have to hard wire everything. If you do make sure you don't change any of the sensor readings going to the ECU!

The DSUB connector on the DL1 is used for receive RS232 based data streams, so it cannot be used to connect directly to your CAN based ECU. However RT do a ECU CAN adapter which can be used to convert the CAN output from your ECU to the RS232 DSUB on the DL1. Latex gloves come in handy when it comes...

Doesn't a narrow band lambda sensor simply switch produce a square wave output which toggles between rich and lean (stoichiometric air/fuel ratio) ? See http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/TechNotes/Tech-4.aspl Only wideband lambda sensors actually give you a A/F ratio. http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/TechNot...

It is possible that the ECU implements some form of spark cut on overrun, if you are tapping into the coil wire you get similar results to what you see. The alternative is to try and take the rpm feed from tacho signal coming from the ECU. More modern cars using CAN bus send the tacho signal via the...

I would have thought that "The DASH3 comes in 2 versions, the DASH3 and the DASH3lite: * The DASH3lite is designed primarily as a lap time display, but also displays vehicle speed and has configurable shift lights. * The standard DASH3 has all the features of the DASH3lite, but in addition can ...

As far as logging, the DL1 + lambda sensor may be overkill for pure lambda logging, but a dedicated lambda logger won't do anything else as time goes on. I believe the LM-1 mentioned above can record up to 5 other analogue inputs (0-5 volts) and the latest LM-2 can record up to 32 analogue inputs.

I believe that the RT produced ECU interface devices output "ECU" specific packets and not "user" defined serial variables as produced when decoding serial data with the analysis software. Hence serial variables are only available during analysis and not at run-time for use by Da...

If you want a simple fixed divide by 2 (or 4) then have a look at

http://www.elecfree.com/electronic/circ ... vide-by-2/

and

http://komponenten.es.aau.dk/fileadmin/ ... 13.pdf.pdf

A bit of vero or matrix board and a chip, maybe come connectors and a few minutes soldering should have you sorted in no time.

Are you using thermocouple's to measure your air temps ? If not you'll find the normal IAT sensors are very slow to respond and you will loose lots of useful data. FWIW my turbo car uses a charge cooler and on one sample run I recorded a peak before cooler temp of 127.7 deg C, post cooler temp of 78...

I presume anything less than full price from a vendor as RS / Farnell etc. There are several different variants - ranging in price / precision from the higher spec AD595CD (around $20 each) to the lower spec AD595AQ ($7 each). Probably best off getting any AD595 ... Also factor in a small price of m...
