Try un-checking Interpolate between data points in "Analysis Options -> Data Options" and check Max rate of change for the analogue input in variable manager.

I was searching around the on-line wiki this morning and noticed its is very slow changing between pages as it seems to have to reload the entire index "tree" on the left hand side each time... In the end I used the local "help" wiki which was more or less instant (though possibl...

More advice, make sure any excess length of cable is not coiled up but is run backwards and forwards, this helps prevent the coil of wire acting as an antenna and picking up noise!

How long did you wait ? It might take several minutes to get a lock. The GPS LED light flashes when the internal GPS system is locked on. It flashes once slowly then a quick "blink" for each satellite it has locked onto.

On my setup, there were 3 wires going into the tank, 12v, ground and the signal from the float sensor within the tank itself.

I simply tapped into the signal sensor wire somewhere in the loom outside the car. Job done - took all of 5 minutes :)

Here's a 90 second run around a UK sprint course. You can see just how much "noise" comes from the sensor.

Top - Long G
Middle - Raw voltage from fuel sensor
Bottom - Brake pedal switch

In my experience there is so much sloshing around of the fuel in a standard tank that the fuel sensor reading will be more or less useless when on track. You will need to filter the values very heavily over quite an extended period of time. What are you really trying to measure ? fuel consumption or...

I guess this is might be down to the fact that the LCD display can only display a one in these positions rather than a full digit ? In which case its a hardware limitation.

I didn't spot the target area of Nurburgring! With such a large venue to cover I think you will struggle unless you have significant resources (I'm thinking helicopter flying above the middle of the course somewhere..., or high power transmitter with repeater stations and very big masts) My suggesti...

You should be able to use a pair of off-the-shelf RS232 radio modems. The idea of these is to replace a physical RS232 wire via a wireless link. Put one in the car attached the serial port of the DL1 and the second attached to your laptop in the pits. Then view real time data using the existing moni...

Reading from the CAN / ECU product page... "The Race Technology CAN interface is a small in-line module for use with a DASH1 or DASH2 display, a DL1 or DL2 data logger or any combination of data logger plus display, to allow data from your engine management system to be displayed and recorded.&...

If the DTA provides a RS232 based asynchronous serial stream rather than the CAN based synchronous serial stream you gave in the original post then it is easily possible using a simple RS232 cable. Note that both are serial based data streams. AFAIK the newer generation DTA Sxx series ECU's use CAN ...

Thanks for the reply but did you even read my post? yes... but did you understand my response ? I was hoping to: -Not have to pay 100GBP for a cable You still have the option of making your own CAN to RS232 converter using some form of electronic circuit board incorporating a microcontroller, line ...

Serial Data Specs out of date

Is there any chance of updating the wiki with the latest specification for the serial data format ? Currently it isn't consistent which makes it kind of hard to know what is going on... see m and m specifically the external ECU data channels. For example is the external temp channel either 72 or 66 ...
