Speed calc

Is it possible to calculate the speed for display using the WSS/ECU speed up to 150 mph and GPS speed above that? Seems to me I can use Variable Source to calculate the speed "from a combination of inputs using an equation" but does that mean I can use the variable value in an equation to ...

I may have the answer. I'm using an RT pulse divider to reduce the pulse rate from the ABS system to a lower frequency that the D2P can actually handle. I ordered this with 15:1 reduction and configured the D2P accordingly. Later I was informed the latest dividers only divide by even numbers so mine...

New sensor input expansion module available soon

Sounds very interesting, but could do with some more information on this. It may provide some much needed functionality and save me from having to implement that separately, so I'd really like to know what it WILL provide before I waste a load of time developing an alternative. Is it something that ...

What *ware?

Yet more confusion. I have been informed by email and also a banner on the website that there is a new version 4.0.34 of the firmware for the D2P, so I checked what was already loaded. Apparently it's 30303 which is not even listed in the Firmware Version file, wherever I try and place the dots. But...

I need a manual for the manual of the D2P

In Section 7.2 we are able to look at the various internal values directly which is invaluable in looking at the voltages being received on the Analog Data Channels for setting up a suitable input equation. But you can also look at the 5V reference outputs, apparently like this:- The RAW and CAL are...

Button direction

I know the buttons can be programmed any which way for when not in Menu mode, but is it possible to change them when in menu mode? The problem is that once in menu mode, UP moves to the next menu item and vice versa for DOWN. But I think about the menus as they are printed in the manual and you move...

Analog inputs and configurations

There's something I'm just not getting here and would appreciate some assistance. I'm just dealing with a single driver and each mode has the same first screen in which the 2 small LCD display areas are set to show Water and Ambient Air temperature. But they were not fully configured and so wrong. T...

Speed display oddity

I've been setting up the speed display of the D2P on a motorcycle. I originally used a rear tyre rolling circumference figure I obtained from the 'Net (just lazy) and that produced the exact same speed/rpm data as others have published and indeed also the same as a dedicated gearing calculator site....

The D2P has 2 x 5V ref. lines, each apparently capable of 500mA, according to the specs. So I should be ok even if the fuel sender is such low resistance. Or are the specs wrong? I'm still puzzled though as to how Honda could have managed to state sensor specs 1000 times wrong. Having said that, I t...

In the end I dismantled the ABS module so I could remove the hydraulics but still keep the electronic side connected. So the ABS ECU was still able to drive the WSSs and process the output into what the main ECU expected. I then had to use RT's frequency divider as even the latest D2P is incapable o...

Fuel level

According to the bike's workshop manual, the fuel sender I am using should read:- Full = 12-14 kΩ Empty = 119-121 kΩ So I used a 10k resistor, as suggested by RT's chart. But that gave me an empty voltage reading of 54 mV, dropping to about 20 mV at approx. 2/3rds full. This would indicate...

No response from support which is a shame. I've installed a D2P onto a bike and found there is a distinct lack of information about how the bike version should be wired. I don't think there was even any documentation on how it differed from the car unit and therefore which wires correspond to which ...

To answer my own question, I connected the Switch Gnd from the D2P and also the common to the actual switches to the vehicle gnd. and everything is working as it should. This means I have just the 4 wires running from the switches to the D2P, as I wanted. Not sure what happens if the D2P's Switch Gn...

Tacho display

I made a mistake configuring the Tacho, thinking it was 1 pulse per revolution when it was obvious to see it should have been 2. So I've been stuck with the D2P displaying twice the rpm it should. Anyway... I've now corrected this by setting it to 2 per revolution, but having made the change and sen...

Output driver pins

With the Output Drivers option I can use 4 of the analog 'channels' as controlled outputs (actually taking pin to ground). By default, these are all on Connector B, leaving the 4 analog inputs on Connector A. This is a problem wiring into the vehicle. Can I configure the analog input channels 1-4 on...
