So when its in an alarm condition you loose shift lights? I guess the alarm condition will have to be really important rather than an indication or warning.

I've bench tested a solution using a MAX9926 for dual channel VR to square wave outputs. If required you can then pass the output from the MAX9926 through a frequency divider to reduce the number of pulses by 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc

2 wires means its most likely a magnetic inductive sensor rather than hall effect which typically uses 3 wires.

Are the LED's not configurable as a "resource", ie some can be allocated to shift lights and others to alarms ? or even a combination such that when an LED's is used for alarms and shiftlights, then alarms take precedence... I've no idea for RT dash's but this is how some other dash's work...

I'm intrigued how you fitted the sensor pick up ring to the driveshaft...

You could try this one http://www.race-technology.com/content. ... &cat=30606

or google for frequency divider. You should be able to build one for "not a lot" or buy one ready made.

Wanted : Goodwood .run file(s)

Hi, On the off chance does anyone have any .run data files for Goodwood ? In particular I'm after the sprint course which goes around the main circuit.

If you can help drop me an email at t.harris (at) robinsons.co.uk, thanks!

Not sure that velocity at 100 Hz would be any more useful useful than simple position. Velocity is simply distance over time (which is constant at 100Hz).

The fundamental problem lies in recording changes in suspension at greater than 100 Hz frequency without aliasing issues

Another thought is that I've had instances where I've been cocking a rear wheel in the air on a FWD car, this causes all sorts of problems as the wheel slows and stops very quickly, not exactly a lock up situation. Maybe gate this in conjunction with -ve acceleration

When doing this sort of math based on wheel speed, remember that the inner and outer wheel speeds will be different when turning, the difference is also dependent on the angle of the steering wheel (ignoring ackerman for now...)

Have you looked at TrackVision ($149) or RaceRender ($24.99)

I've used RaceRender in the past, the free version limits you to 3 minutes of video, plenty to allow you to try before you buy.

A friend of mine with a Darrian rally car (Hewland box and DTA ECU) just went through all this, IIRC he also used a sensor from Geartronics - the guy they talked him through it all and was mega helpful at setting it all up. One thing he did find troublesome was fitting the gear change switch, he use...
