Re: Wheel Speed differential (Detecting loss of traction)
Set up two frequency channels as speed channels. Set up a math channel to ratio the two speeds as a percentage, or calculate the plus/minus difference in %. Easy-peasy if you are familiar with basic maths functions.

Re: DL1 Mk2 has power but wont turn on...
Check the on-board battery to see if it is OK (should be 3V). I had a similar problem, replaced the battery with a cell holder, and now replace the 2032 battery yearly.

Re: DL1 Mk1 and Mk2 Internal Battary
Yes they allow the device to remember what satellites are in the area for quick lock on. I have also noted a lot of corrupted files when the battery is dead. I adapted a button cell holder so that I can replace the CR2032 battery annually. No more lost data, and super quick lock on.

I would use an oven to heat the probe, and a fridge to cool it. I would wrap the sensor with a K-type thermocouple attached to a display, and when the temp stabilises at a value take a reading with the logger. 5 degrees, ambient (night and day can give a 20 degree spread), and 100 degrees should giv...

I have similar problems, and I also put it down to a poor GPS lock before starting the logger. I always make sure that I start the logger out in the open, make sure the GPS light is flashing, and avoid carports, garages etc. I have one track in the Upper Hunter Valley that has a lot of surrounding t...

Video sync
Accurate? . . . you would think so . . . I had to FF/RW to nominate start and finish sync points to get it to make sense. Like I said originally I only used it during the early beta testing of V7 when the feature was not locked out. It may be completely different now, so hopeully someone who has use...

Samsung codecs
The only information I have from Media Player is: 704 x 576 *.avi video using DivX Custom Decoder Filter. Audio with AC3 Filter. I only do hillclimbs, so only one lap applies, and there was no obvious problems with the sync. I would expect that with the considerable GPS drift experienced by DL1 unit...

Video option
Had a chance to use the video option during the beta testing of V7. Found it quite easy to use and of some use for tuning to driver (me!), but did not see the value in having to pay extra for it. Decoded the Samsung files with no problems at all.
